Method Repackages Signature Body Washes With Latinx Artists Collaboration

Limited edition line features seven different sustainable packages.

Personal care brand Method recruited seven Latinx artists to create a limited-edition lineup of “reimagined body washes with designs that align with neighborhoods and traditions that shaped the artist behind it,” the company contends.

The Artist Collection “honors the cities, cultures and communities that continue to shape Latinx creativity and have translated those influences into custom fragrances and bottle designs,” according to Method.

“My design celebrates the feeling of welcoming nature into the home and the tropical fragrance deepens that connection,” said Puerto Rican artist Larissa De Jesús Negrón. “Together, they embody a relationship with the natural world that has always been central to my practice as an artist.”

The line is also sustainable, as it is formulated without parabens or phthalates and packaged in bottles (excluding caps) composed of 80% recycled plastic (PCR).

Limited-Edition Collection

Method’s Limited-Edition Artist Collection features the following designs:

San Juan, Larissa De Jesús Negrón bottle: The scent includes notes of pineapple, tangerine and white peach with a design depicting San Juan’s landscape—florals, mountains and the island’s “natural abundance rendered in color.”

Miami, Derek Abella: The scent is lily of the valley, amber and rose and the design depicts two hands playing dominoes surrounded by palms,.

New York City, Camila Rosa: With a fragrance of vanilla chai, cashmere and santal, the design depicts “New York and Latinx identity woven together.”

Los Angeles, Mel Depaz: With a scent of water lily and coconut, the design depicts a picado paper tradition as a tribute to Los Angeles.

Chicago, Maria Garcia Vargas: The scent is raspberry, cream and cake with a design that depicts Chicago’s skyline.

Phoenix, Ashley Macias: With a fragrance of cactus blossoms, white sands and jasmine, the design depicts cactus flowers in a desert terrain.

Houston, David Maldonado: With a scent of peach nectar, honey and sweet vanilla, the design depicts a Houston astronaut, a rose and a monarch butterfly.

The collection also celebrates Method’s San Francisco roots with a bottle depicting the Golden Gate Bridge.

“My work has always been about celebrating those who don’t fit the mold—their strength, their stories, their joy,” said Brazilian artist Camila Rosa. “I wanted this design to represent the people I capture in my art—bold and completely themselves.”

The limited-edition body wash collection will be available while supplies last at retailers nationwide and methodproducts.com.

Select designs will be available exclusively at Walmart (Ashley Macias, David Maldonado), Target (Camila Rosa), and Ulta Beauty (Mel Depaz, Maria Garcia Vargas). Each 18-ounce body wash retails for $8.99.
